Sightseeing

in and around Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Anyone on vacation in Garmisch-Partenkirchen can look forward to a number of sights, excursion and hiking destinations in the region.

First of all, there is the impressive Zugspitze, the highest mountain in Germany. It also stands for an impressive Alpine panorama. You should plan half a day to visit the Zugspitze.

You can also experience a great view and an unforgettable panorama on the AlpspiX viewing platform at an altitude of 2,000 meters above the Höllental valley. 25 meter long steel arms allow a view into the depths.

Just as impressive is the hike through the Partnach Gorge, which is also one of Garmisch-Partenkirchen’s attractions. The 700-meter-long gorge can be visited in summer and winter and is easy to hike.

Of course, Garmisch-Partenkirchen would be unthinkable without the famous Olympic ski jump, the historic bobsleigh run at Rießersee and the Werdenfels castle ruins.
